After the tree is lit, the celebration continues across the street at City Hall from 5–7 PM with:

- A dance performance by the Lynn Classical High School Dance Team
- A performance by the Lynn English High School Drama Club
- Toe Jam Puppets
- Photos with Santa
- Free popcorn and drinks
- Music from a live DJ
It’s a relaxed, fun way to spend a Tuesday evening and a great chance to support local makers and performers.
“Home For The Holidays” Concert at Lynn Auditorium
December 4
Lynn Auditorium brings a dose of classic holiday spirit with Home for the Holidays, a special concert featuring Peabo Bryson, Sheena Easton, and Ruben Studdard. It’s an ideal way to ease into the season with a night of great music close to home.
Festival of Lights in Central Square
December 8, 4–8 PM
Central Square will glow once again during the Festival of Lights, which includes the annual tree and menorah lighting. The event features sing-along moments and dance performances from Lynn youth organizations, plus hot chocolate and coffee provided by the Salvation Army of Lynn. Santa and Mayor Nicholson will be on hand, along with other special guests.
This event is presented by the City of Lynn, the Greater Lynn Chamber of Commerce, and Lynn Main Streets, another example of Lynn organizations coming together to make downtown welcoming and lively throughout the winter.
The Nutcracker at Lynn Auditorium
December 20 – Shows at 12 PM & 4 PM
The holiday classic returns to Lynn Auditorium as The Greater Salem Ballet Company performs The Nutcracker. Whether it’s a yearly tradition or a first-time outing, it’s a great opportunity to experience a beloved seasonal performance without leaving the city.
Lynn stays busy all December long, and each of these events offers an accessible way to celebrate the season with family, friends, and neighbors. Whether you’re heading downtown for live music, grabbing hot chocolate during a tree lighting, or settling in for a holiday performance, there’s plenty happening right here to make the month feel festive.
