Opening Reception at GALA

Galleries At LynnArts (GALA) is happy to announce the Opening Reception on June 2nd, 5:30-7:30pm for two new exhibitions. Music in Movement in the Main Gallery celebrates the interconnectedness of music and visual art. In our Community Gallery, we will kick off Pride month with The LGBTQ+ Pride Flag & Color Symbolism exhibit in collaboration with United Lynn Pride. For this exhibit submissions are based on the symbolism of the colors included in the LGBTQ+ Pride Flag.
The reception will kick off with a special performance by competition dancers from Cultura Latina Dance Academy. Followed by Music by JazzBlackett, a saxophonist based in Boston, Massachusetts who’s unique sound combines jazz, dubstep, afro beats, and R&B.
Prismatic, a new zine produced by the queer community in Lynn, MA. will also launch its first ever issue during the artists reception! The first issue of Prismatic is dedicated to trans rights and the struggle to ensure trans children are given the care and support they need in order to be themselves. Come to the Artists Reception and get a free copy of the first issue!
As always we will have our sharing table. All are welcomed to bring a dish to share. We will have beer graciously donated by Bent Water Brewery, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks.
