Throughout history and across cultures artists have attempted to paint music. From Classical music to the Harlem Renaissance music has inspired great artworks. Whether you are a painter, sculptor, performer or photographer, we want to see how music is your muse.
Rhythm and Movement are integral parts of the artist’s language. Rhythm in art creates a visual tempo created with the repetition of lines, shapes, colors, and more. Movement in art provides a dance for the viewer’s eye to follow. This exhibit at GALA calls for interpretations of music through art making, whether visually creating movement to a beat of a drum or finding inspiration in a song that conjures memory or stirs emotion.
Come and be inspired for our upcoming exhibit and join us for an evening with Soundscapes visions on May 12th. Soundscapes vision explores the fusion of sound, music and visual art. Reserve your free ticket at www.soundscapevision.org/events.
